This is my first year in Dr. Zacherl’s lab. I am currently helping in the lab, out in the field, and with dives. I have been diving for 4 years, and have both Advanced and AAUS (American Academy of Underwater Sciences) certifications. My goals after graduation are to attend medical school and become a child neurologist or neuropsychologist. Despite my career goals, I believe that Dr. Zacherl’s lab is the perfect place for me because of my love for marine life and the marine ecosystem. Since a child, I always looked to the ocean with wonder and have fallen absolutely in love with it as a scuba diver. I hope to get in numerous dives for Dr. Zacherl’s lab, diving for graduate student Amanda Bird, and other faculty and students that need volunteers.

I am very excited to learn as much as I can and gain experience in the lab. I feel so welcomed and blessed to be joining this incredible group and can’t wait to get my feet wet in research.
